ENDERS ANNOUNCES NEW POWERPLANT FOR DIRT BIG BLOCK COMPETITION Phoenix, NY
Kevin and Kim Enders, proprietors of Enders Racing Engines, a long-time supplier of high-performance engines to all segments of the sport, are now shipping their new Super Sport Engine for 2007 DIRT big-block competition. Developed as an alternative to crate motors, the Enders SS is also seen as an affordable powerplant for Sportsman and 358 Modified teams wanting to advance to DIRTs headline division. Our original goal was to offer a low cost alternative to the crate engine and give promoters more options as they try to make racing more affordable explained Kevin Enders. But weve also noticed a huge disparity between the cost of a Sportsman engine and the big blocks and many teams that would like to move up just cant afford the initial cost. The SS motor is priced under $20,000, substantially less than our top of the line big blocks, but is fully upgradeable and can be improved in stages. After the driver gets accustomed to racing at that level and needs more power, both the cylinder heads and the oiling system can be upgraded as part of the regular rebuild cycle. A number of other advantages were cited by the respected builder, whose powerplants have propelled such DIRT stars as Billy Decker, Brett Hearn and Tim Fuller to victory lane at tracks ranging from quarter-mile bullrings to the Syracuse mile. The SS uses high quality, American-made aftermarket racing parts rather than the leftover GM parts found in Chevrolets crate motors, explained Enders. And the engines are designed for DIRT racing, theyre not a one size fits all combination used for everything from drag racing to stock cars. Theyre also driver friendly, with enough power to be competitive but with a power curve thats perfect for big block rookies. Enders has long been associated with teams racing on a limited budget and is proud of the fact that they win races by combining a talented driver with a skilled crew fielding a car that handles well and has a reliable, competitive engine. Its the right combination that wins races, not the biggest budget, says Enders. We feel that the SS engine can be a vital part of that winning combination. More information on the SS engine can be obtained by calling Enders at 315-695-4491 or online at www.endersracingengines.com. He is available to the media during business hours to discuss his thoughts on engine rules, technical inspection and racing costs.
