Q. Will DIRT's new 2005 358 class rules make my existing engine obsolete?
A. No, not necessarily. The main issue with the new rules is getting the power at the right point in the RPM band. The Enders built 358's were never originally built to run at excessive RPM's. Therefore, minor changes at rebuild time are all that are necessary. Engines originally built to run high RPM's will require significantly more change. | TOP DESIGN.

Q: How much horsepower does your Syracuse Big Block Chevrolet make?
A: Enough! We really don't give out horsepower numbers. It can become a game of liar's poker. Our engines consistently set fast time at Syracuse and our overall results speak for themselves. Don't compare numbers, compare results.
Q: Can you ship racing engines?
A: Absolutely! Just let us know where and we'll get the pricing. In the Northeast we are generally looking at 1-2 days shipping and the cost is right around $150.00
Q: How often should we change the oil in our racing engine?
A: Every other race.
Q: How long before an engine needs to be rebuilt?
A: This really depends on the the type of engine and the type of racing. A sportsman type engine that is raced 1 night a week can usually go the entire season. A team that is racing on Dirt in a series might race 1000-1200 laps.
Q: What does an engine rebuild entail?
A: At Enders Racing Engines, Inc. we rebuild our engines. We don't "freshen". We change the pistons, lifters, bearings, gaskets, rod bolts. The block is re-honed, we perform a complete valve job and then reassemble. Each engine has complete records on file where we keep track of time on the valves, rockers etc. they are changed according to a schedule set up for that engine. We are able to retain the performance levels for the engine after each rebuild because of this system with excellent reliability. |
